Free Calls With Skype On Three Mobile
Well most of us know with Skype you can make free calls from one PC to another, however now you can make free skype calls from your mobile phone with Skype on 3.
Thats brilliant, no need to connect to your PC to make free calls to anywhere in the world. All they require is Skype on their PC or a Skype on 3 compatible mobile phone. You can either buy the 3 Skypephone on pay as you go for £49.99 or pay monthly. These phones are not the best mobile phones in the world however they are full of the modern features.
On pay as you go you are required to top up a minimum of £10 a month to be given 30 days of the Skype service. The credit will remain on your phone to use on none Skype activity, be it calling other mobiles or landlines or using the mobile internet.
You can now simply buy a Three (3G) pay as you go sim card, put it in a 3 Skype compatible phone such as Nokia N73 & E65, download Skype to the phone, top up the minimum £10 a month and start making free calls.
On pay monthly from £12 a month you will recieve a months usage of Skype and 100 units to use as cross network mintues and text messages. The Skype tariffs go up to £24 a month for one months Skype access and 900 units you use as a mixure of cross network minutes and text messages.
On certain supported handsets you can also get free skype calls with the 3 silver or gold X-Series package. Currently only a limited number of handsets support this including the Nokia N73 and E65. This is an excellent option if you wish you use a more popular handset. The X-Series silver package costs an extra £5 a month and the gold package costs and extra £10 a month on top of your current monthly line rental. However you do recieve additional services such as unlimted data usage (subject to fair usage policy obviously) and/or access to slingbox/Orb depending on which package you subscribe to.
Unlimited does not mean unlimited, on pay as you go and mix and match Skype pay monthly the fair usage policy states a maximum of 4000 Skype voice minutes and a maximum of 10,000 Skype chats. The fair usage policy allows 3 X-Series Skype users a maximum of 5000 Skype minutes a month.
Overall an excellent package whichever option you go for and highly recommended especially for making international call. I think it could also be quite popular with school children as the free calls will be very appealing especially if they are currently spending alot topping up, however this all depends if their mates are also use the service.
